Post-Op "MUST HAVES" Checklist

🩺 Compression & Support

  • Stage 1 Faja: Proper size per surgeon (initial weeks).

  • Stage 2 Faja: Lighter compression for the next phase of contouring.

  • Abdominal Board: Front and back boards for compression and flatness.

  • Lipo Foam / Foam Pads: To prevent creases and even out pressure.

  • Post-Surgical Bra: Front-closure, no-wire (for Breast Augmentation).

  • Abdominal Binder: If specifically requested by your surgeon.

  • Compression Socks: Essential for preventing blood clots.

🩹 Wound & Drain Care

  • ABD / Surgical Pads: High-absorbency pads for drainage.

  • Drain Belt or Lanyard: To hold JP drains securely (especially for Tummy Tucks).

  • Gauze & Medical Tape: For smaller incision sites.

  • Alcohol Wipes: For sanitizing drain sites or tools.

🧼 Hygiene & Personal Care

  • Unscented Antibacterial Soap: (e.g., Dial Gold or Hibiclens).

  • Fragrance-Free Wipes: For "sponge baths" when you can't shower.

  • Non-Slip Slippers or Slides: Safety for walking around the house.

  • Loose Clothing: Button-down or zip-up tops only (do not pull over your head).

💊 Medications & Supplements

  • Stool Softener: (Very Important) To combat constipation from pain meds.

  • Protein Shakes: Essential for tissue repair and healing.

  • Electrolytes: Pedialyte or Gatorade Zero for hydration.

  • Arnica: Tablets or cream for bruising and swelling.

  • Medication Tracker: A notebook or app to log doses and times.

🛋️ Recovery Comfort

  • BBL Pillow: (BBL patients only) No sitting without it to protect fat transfer.

  • Recliner or Wedge Pillows: To maintain a "bent" position for Tummy Tucks.

  • Large Water Bottle: To stay hydrated without constant refilling.

  • Assistance: A dedicated person to help for the first 3–5 days.

  • Lymphatic Massage: Pre-booked sessions (usually starting within the first week).

  • Follow Surgeon Instructions: They supersede any checklist.

  • Protect Your Results: No pressure on the butt after BBL; maintain a flexed (hunched) posture after a Tummy Tuck.

  • Keep Moving: Walk daily as tolerated to promote circulation.
